FPSO vessels capable of processing up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day will utilize the tool to enhance production performance
Shape Digital, a provider of digital services for industrial plants, has deployed its digital platform Lighthouse on the new FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units) Almirante Barroso MV32 and Anita Garibaldi MV33, both already in production with Petrobras. Lighthouse is an Intelligent Asset Management platform focused on improving reliability, reducing maintenance costs, increasing production, mitigating risk exposure, and reducing GHG emissions. Among other things, the tool detects early signs of equipment deterioration and process abnormalities.
The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 is one of the largest in Brazil, built to operate in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt region of the Santos Basin. The vessel has a capacity to process 150,000 barrels of crude oil per day and 6 million cubic meters of gas. The Anita Garibaldi MV33, on the other hand, has a capacity to process 80,000 barrels of crude oil and 7 million cubic meters of gas per day. Both will benefit from Lighthouse’s ability to centralize, organize, and contextualize their data, controlling process variables, maintenance notes, offline inspection results, a complete alarm history, and asset integrity management—utilizing a library of over 100 pre-built models powered by AI for predicting operational failures.
"The expansion of Lighthouse to new units reinforces Shape Digital's ability to deliver significant impact on plant performance through the use of data," said Felipe Baldissera, VP of Energy at Shape. In 2023, Lighthouse reduced production downtime by over 15% on connected units, contributing to lower maintenance costs, enhanced operational safety, and increased oil and gas production for a fleet that now represents more than 25% of national production.
