Discharge cooler temperature optimization
Learn how Shape Aura’s recommendation improved efficiency at the gas plant without disrupting the system, resulting in a notable reduction in energy consumption.
At the end of July, a new degree of freedom was added to Shape Aura: the discharge cooler temperature.
Once this was implemented, Shape Aura immediately identified that the discharge cooler temperature of the Reinjection compressor was not at its maximum. Consequently, on July 25th, 2024, Shape Aura issued recommendation #156 to increase this temperature to a more optimal operating point.
On July 28th, 2024, the operational adjustments outlined in recommendation #156 were initiated. The operational team successfully implemented the recommendation without any issues, achieving flawless execution.
Reinj flawless implementation; Reinj achieved savings
Given the interconnected nature of the gas plant, it's important to assess whether the recommendation had any impact on other parts of the system, despite being specifically focused on the reinjection discharge cooler temperature. The results indicate that recommendation #156 from Shape Aura successfully contributed to overall energy improvements in the unit's gas plant, without affecting other sections of the chain. The recommendation led to an average energy consumption reduction.
